Are you RESISTING, or taking ACTION each day to let people know what you’re doing and what you’re offering?
To grow your business, One of the key daily activities you need to do consistently is MAKING OFFERS.
I see many coaches being frustrated and defeated because they have zero clients. The first question I ask them is: “Are you making any offers?”
Sure, there is this period at the beginning of your business when you are nourishing your tribe and providing value, but if you NEVER make offers, then nobody will know they can work with you. So, while providing valuable content, there are subtle ways to plant the seed that someone can (and should) become your client.
My clients often pass through a period where they fear sounding salesy or pushy. They might feel like they are always promoting. That’s when I tell them about the Rule of Seven:
The Rule of Seven is one of the oldest concepts in marketing. It simply says that the prospective buyer should hear or see the marketing message at least seven times before they buy it from you.
The number doesn’t really matter; it means your marketing effort should be repetitive and consistent for the following good reasons:
- In the first few times, a person will not notice your message because we live in a world of information that creates lots of noise.
- Most people hearing about your service are not ready to buy yet. They take mental note they’ll need your service, but when finally ready, they’ll go with the latest marketing message they heard or saw. That’s why you need to keep playing your record. You want them to hear about it at the time they are ready.
- If people see the value of your service, they will find a way to buy it. They never worry about the price if it’s the right thing they want. Through the rule of 7, you can demonstrate the value you offer on multiple occasions, which helps to show them the value you provide.
- It builds the KNOW-LIKE-TRUST factor which helps them accepting you as an expert and buy from you.
If you’re not putting yourself out there, you’ll be stuck in the zero-client zone and sabotage your business for a very long time.
